Barletta is a film and commercial production company, which introduced itself in 2013 with its debut feature film ‘Touchless’, directed by Matěj Chlupáček, the company’s founder. Only a year later, the company gained another nation wide cinema release with ‘Hany’, a feature film shot seemingly in one continuous take, written and directed by Michal Samir. The film was successful on the international festival circuit, claiming the Grand Prix in Tbilisi, Georgia and German Independence Award at Oldenburg, Germany. It was also awarded the Best Cinematography at Czech Film Critics Awards 2014. In 2016, Barletta in co-production with HBO Europe released ‘The Noonday Witch’, a horror film produced by Matěj Chlupáček, written by Michal Samir and starring Aňa Geislerová. The film was presented at Karlovy Vary IFF as part of the East of the West competition and at BFI London Film Festival and was acquired by AMC US. Prolific on a commercial scene, Barletta has been making high end TV commercials and online content for past several years for clients like BMW, O2, HBO, SKODA, Kaufland and many others. Working also in London, Barletta became involved in VR content, producing many 360 commercials as well as co-producing a first person VR film ‘The Committee’, which screened at VRUK and Dubai International Film Festival.
