PILSEN REGION

The Pilsen Region Funding Programme for the Production of Audiovisual Works was approved in January 2022.

Calls:

 

  • 2024 (deadline for submissions of applications 19th January–15th April 2024), CZK 6,500,000 will be distributed
  • 2023 (April 2023), 17 supported projects, total amount of grants CZK 5.000.000
  • 2022 (April 2022): 11 supported projects, total amount of grants CZK 4.420.000
Objective:

 

  • to improve the conditions for the development of the film industry and cinematography in the Pilsen Region
  • cultural, educational and marketing contribution to the Pilsen Region
  • to promote local culture and tourism, cooperation between local artists, including traditional arts and crafts, and professionals 
  • to support the work of young and emerging artists
Eligible projects:

 

  • feature or animated films of a minimum lenght of 60 minutes
  • short or animated films up to 59 minutes of lenght
  • documentary including travelogue
  • TV series including animated or documentary with the minimum of 1 episode being shot in the Pilsen Region
  • student or amateur films including animated or documentary with shooting and prep works taking place in the Pilsen Region of at least 1 shooting day or 12 hours
  • intended for cinema distribution or television transmission and television retransmission (video on demand), internet or video-on-demand platforms
Criteria:

 

  • audiovisual works at least partly implemented in the Pilsen Region or about personalities associated with the Pilsen Region, and at the same time with a significant cultural, educational and marketing benefit for the Pilsen Region

MORAVIAN-SILESIAN REGION

The Moravian-Silesian Region Funding Programme for the Support for Filming Audiovisual Works 2022 was approved in October 2021.

Calls:

 

  • 2022 (December 2021): 6 supported projects, total amount of grants CZK 4.800.000
  • 2019 (October 2019): 10 supported projects, total amount of grants CZK 5.000.000
Objective:

 

  • to strengthen the local economy, competitiveness, and the region’s attractiveness to the domestic and international audiovisual industry
  • to support the “Moravian-Silesian Region” as a modern, cultural, film-friendly region through the use of audiovisual projects with marketing and promotional potential
Eligible projects:

 

  • feature and documentary films, series and episodes of series
  • intended for cinema distribution or television transmission and television retransmission (video on demand)
Criteria:

 

  • the manner and extent of utilization of locations, local services, the public, the local cultural and creative industries, and local film professionals
  • the total amount of funds spent in the region
  • the presentation of the region in the audiovisual work, content and thematic linking the project to the region
  • the total number of shooting days scheduled in the region
  • the promotional and marketing potential for the region
  • the form and extent of distribution

  • international cinema distribution, television broadcasting, television rebroadcasting, or a video on demand service (with the exception of student audiovisual projects)

ZLÍN REGION

Zlín Region Funding Programme for Support of Audiovisual Productions

Calls:

 

  • 2022 (deadline for submissions of applications 22nd January–28th March 2022), CZK 6,000,000 will be distributed
  • 2020 (August 2020): 5 supported projects, total amount of grants CZK 6 million
  • 2019 (August 2019): 6 supported projects, total amount of grants CZK 10 million
  • 2017/2018 (January 2018): 6 supported projects, total amount of grants CZK 10 million
Objective:

 

  • to maintain or improve the traditional creative sector
  • to generate interest in the Zlín Region
  • to use the potential of the Zlín Region for the development of the audiovisual sector
Eligible projects:

 

  • feature and animated films intended for cinema distribution or television broadcasting (>70 min)
  • documentary films intended for cinema distribution or television broadcasting (>50 min)
  • fictional, scripted TV series or episodes (>25 min/episode)
  • animated TV series episode (>12 min/episode)
Criteria:

 

  • quality of project and team
  • significance and contribution of project
  • project organisation and financing
  • regional effect and marketing potential

Film Fund of the City of Zlín

  • level of importance for the city of Zlín, evaluation of quality by experts
  • the territory of Zlín (how much the city appears in the audiovisual project)
  • involvement of the personality of Zlín – whether a personality associated with the city of Zlín appears in the audiovisual project (even questionable)

  • amount of production expenditure in the region
  • promotional and marketing potential of the project for the city of Brno and South Moravia
  • content/thematic connection with the city of Brno and South Moravian Region
  • level of national/international distribution
  • involvement of local audiovisual professionals
  • use of local services
  • 100% of the grant must be spent in the region

OLOMOUC REGION

Calls:

 

  • 2019: application deadline 28 February 2019, budget CZK 800,000
  • 2018: two supported projects, total amount of grants CZK 390,000
Objective:

 

  • to motivate filmmakers to shoot in the region
  • to support the local economy, tourism, and marketing of the region through film and television
Eligible projects:

 

  • feature and documentary film (>70 min)
  • TV film (>60 min)
  • fictional, scripted TV series or episodes (>30 min/episode)
  • TV documentary film (>40 min)
Criteria:

 

  • size and scope of shoots on location in the Olomouc Region
  • potential for use in marketing the region for tourism

ÚSTÍ REGION

Calls:

Objective:

 

  • to support local economy and create new short-term job opportunities 
  • to promote the region through audiovisual projects with marketing potential
Eligible projects:

 

  • feature film, TV series or episodes
Criteria:

 

  • majority Czech financing of the audiovisual project
  • 100% of the grant must be spent in the Ústí region
