Film Friendly Award

The Film Friendly award is a joint initiative of the Audiovisual Producers’ Association (APA),Czech Film Commission (CFC) and the CzechTourism agency and is aimed at regions and locations for actively seeking out filmmakers and crafting an effective concept to attract productions to the region via audiovisual promotional works.

The competition is a part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness of the benefits of audiovisual productions for Czech regions and to encourage an active and widespread approach to promoting film tourism.

A jury of APA, Czech Film Commission and CzechTourism representatives evaluates primarily on two levels: working with filmmakers before filming, during the production and utilization of filming and films made in the region in their marketing activities.

The winner of the first Film Friendly award (2014) was Jeseniky Film Office. The Film Friendly award for 2015 went to Karlovy Vary Region Film Office, for 2016 to Liberec Film Office.

“We have long encouraged regions to work with filmmakers, and we feel that with each year the regions are more open to and interested in attracting productions. The Film Friendly awards are an appreciation of their efforts,” said Ludmila Claussová, Czech Film Commissioner in 2004-2017.
