Catch up with the Czech film industry in Karlovy Vary
18 June 2012
The Czech Film Commission is excited to introduce several industry-focused initiatives at the upcoming 47th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (June 29-July 7).
The Czech Film Corner is a joint effort by the Czech Film Center, the Czech Film Commission and MEDIA Desk Czech Republic. Visitors to the umbrella stand can learn the latest news about Czech films and filmmaking. You can find us on the first floor of the Hotel Thermal between the Film Industry Office and the Program Department.
Karlovy Vary’s annual Works in Progress pitching event is a must for film professionals at the festival. Every year, producers from Central and Eastern Europe pitch their latest feature projects -- completed or in post-production -- to international distributors, sales agents and festival programmers. Organized by the festival Film Industry Office, the Works in Progress event takes place Monday, July 2, 13:30-17:00. Read more here.
Film projects solely from the Czech Republic and Slovakia will be the focus of Pitch and Feedback, an event organized by the Czech Film Center. Producers, directors and screenwriters will pitch potential co-production projects-in-development to experienced international film professionals on Tuesday, July 3, 10:00-12:00 at the Becher Villa, Krále Jiřího Street 1196/9 (access with film industry accreditation only).
If you are coming to Karlovy Vary and would like to meet with the Czech Film Commission to discuss how we can help you with your project, please contact Ivana Dragounova, in Karlovy Vary June 30-July 6, mobile +420 724 329 956.
