The Czech Film Commission participated for the fourth time at FOCUS in London and was among numerous international film commissions and service companies presenting locations, production incentives and support in their countries. This year’s edition took place 4 – 5 December.

FOCUS, The Meeting Place for International Production, is organized by The Location Guide since 2015 and is aimed at all the creative screen industries – including film, TV, advertising, animation and interactive. It is the only UK trade event where attendees can meet with content makers, film commissions, production services and locations providers from over 60 countries.

Each year, FOCUS also reunites the member film commissions of the EUFCN (European Film Commissions Network). The Czech Film Commission is a part of the association since its founding in 2007 and now it assumed a challenging role at the board of directors – the Czech film commissioner Pavlina Žipková was electected its vicepresident at this year’s annual member meeting.

Among other activities, the EUFCN, in cooperation with the Cineuropa online magazine, organizes the Best European Location Award poll. For 2018, the award went to Hellenic Film Commission for the island of Corfu which plays a key role in the TV series The Durrells.
