Association of Czech Cinematographers (AČK)
Profile
The Association of Czech Cinematographers is very active. Since 1996, ACK has held annual ACK Award ceremonies (CENA ASOCIACE CESKYCH KAMERAMANU). Its newsletter, originally called ZPRAVODAJ, is now found on the web site WWW.CESKAM.CZ, maintained by Marek Jicha. The Exhibition of Photographed Cinematographers is held annually. Senior members hold regular meetings with their colleagues from the Association. ACK is working toward the recognition of cinematographers as a profession having copyright protection.
In 2003, the Association of Czech Cinematographers was united with the Association of Television Cinematographers. Josef Hanus, Josef Spelda, Jiri Myslik, Jiri Macak, Marek Jicha, Josef Vanis, Kristian Hynek, Frantisek Spilka and Ivan Vit are among the board members for the Association.
The Association of Czech Cinematographers, ACK, is a member of the Federation of European Cinematography Associations – IMAGO.
