Faraz Alam is a Prague-based cinematographer and camera operator, and a FAMU Cinematography alumnus with more than ten years of professional life in the Czech Republic.
He works primarily as a cinematographer across feature films, series, commercials, documentaries and visual art projects, with additional availability as camera operator, B-camera operator, second unit / splinter unit cinematographer.
In recent years, Faraz has been working as a DoP on Indian projects, including a feature film due for release on Amazon Prime and web-series work for Disney. Having spent this period partly outside Prague, he is now deliberately reconnecting with the Czech film and commercial ecosystem, with the aim of building a stronger local presence again.
His approach combines visual authorship with practical set discipline: motivated light, lens logic, movement, continuity, rhythm and a clean post-production handoff. He is interested in images that do more than look beautiful, images that carry atmosphere, subtext and dramatic pressure.
Faraz is fluent in English, certified B1 in Czech, and comfortable working with both international crews and Czech production teams. His work includes projects shot across the Czech Republic, India, and Europe, with cinematography awards and recognition, including AČK-related recognition etc.
