Martin Kux Král, Music Composer

He was born on April 9, 1987, in Chrudim (Czech Republic). He initially studied composition at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory and later at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (HAMU).
In 2023, he completed postgraduate composition courses at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome.
He has composed several vocal and instrumental works. He is also active in writing music for the stage and media. He regularly collaborates with both Czech and international performers.
His compositions have been performed by leading Czech music ensembles and foreign artists, such as the South Bohemian Philharmonic České Budějovice, BERG Orchestra, FAMA Quartet, Opera diversa, Sedláček Quartet, Mucha Trio, Kühn Mixed Choir, baritone Roman Janál, clarinetist Anna Paulová, violinist Ludmila Waldmann Pavlová, pianists Daniel Wiesner, Jan Čmejla, Matouš Zukal, actor Viktor Dvořák, the choir Pražští pěvci, pianist Alessandro Simoni, guitarist Vincenzo Ruggiero, and others.

Motto:

“As a composer, I stylistically find myself at the intersection of lyrical minimalism and postmodern expressivity. I synthesize tradition with modern elements. In music, I give space to silence, detail, micro-changes, but I also make use of dramatic gestures.”
